Yesterday I took The Furry Survey again. And again I was tempted to write in the slot for comments, "When are you going to ask some questions that actually pertain to a fandom for Furry characters? Like, what are your favorite Furry movies and how often do you watch them with fellow fans?"
But then I thought, "Well, how often do I get to watch Furry movies with friends?" Not very often. So it wouldn’t really do much good if they did put questions like that on there. It would just show that I don’t get to enjoy that kind of sharing of Furry stuff as I did when sharing Anime stuff in Anime Fandom.
But, go figure. Tonight I find myself in Second Life sitting around with a bunch of Furry Friends watching "Hop." Ok, now I can say unequivocally, this feels like a real "Fandom" experience.
So, stuff it, Furry survey makers. As a Furry, I couldn't care less about how my fellow fans view themselves sexually, politically or other non-fan related stuff that makes up, not just the majority of the survey, but the entirety of the survey. It's just like it was in Anime Fandom. You set all that stuff aside for the joy of having someone to sit around and share the things you like with.
So, in honor of sharing "Hop" with friends day, here’s some footage of The Pink Berets straying onto the "Back To The Future" set at the Universal theme park.

At last, someone has said (far better than I could ever manage) pretty much what I have thought of the survey for a while now. I did look at the questions for this years survey but I just gave up because I couldn't see the relevance to it any more. Who needs a grid full of psychological tests and questions? What is it going to prove once they've got the results together? I just cannot raise the enthusiasm to answer it or support it any more. Someone should put together a better survey with questions that are actually relevant...
OT but you might have some spyware on your computer - I got an e-mail from you today about a work-at-home opportunity that (under further research) is a scam.
I got a reply from you with another link in it. I hope you didn't catch the virus.
I'm currently attempting to change my important passwords. But it's proving to be a pain.
No idea how to get rid of a virus.
Nope, I sent the link when I thought you sent the e-mail do you have AVG? You might want to look into getting Super Anti-Spyware as well :)
I just have Norton. Apparently it let me down.
Yeah, it'll do that (seriously, the e-mail thing is more likely spyware than a virus, so virus programs aren't much help - I had a horrid spyware on my computer while using AVG)
The movies is one of the perks of being in the Sunweavers. We can all enjoy movies together now and then. | |
