From time to time I get depressed and start wondering if anything will come of the things I’ve done on LJ. After all, it’s not often that a journal gets back read. Especially one as large as mine. But every once in a while something happens that lets me know good things can come of old entries. And therefore the journal is definitely worth maintaining.
Last night I got an E-mail from someone about my Nature Mouse entry, which I think was made around 2007. He said he remembered the album from his childhood and had been searching for info about it to no avail until someone directed him to my journal.
He asked hopefully if I could send him an MP3 of the album, since the link in the original entry was dead. So I sent him the audio and the album art, and this morning I got another E-mail from him saying he had shared the album on YouTube.
So, here it is, made from my rip of the 78’s and scans of the artwork, a long lost Furry classic now once again available to the world.
P.S. Apparently the person who wrote me is a musician of some note in modern rock music. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Crow |

Yeah, sometimes it seems like nothing good will come of the things you do. I often wonder that about my friends. There's lots of them that need help in some way, and I'm full and prepared to give my all for them. An old friend of mine used to be subsceptible to severe depression to the point of suicide, and I would sneak onto the computer just to make sure he was alright, even though it was against the rules of the house and I risked a worse punishment.
And then there's people like Kitty, where I was ready to help and share my whole world with, and it just kinda...didn't seem to work in the end. But who knows, maybe like with your journal being of use to that musician, perhaps my wanting to help others will pay off someday.
