Here's a little video that  recoyote shared with me, which shows that Furry is not the only fandom out there that has to explain itself to itself, but doesn't begin to get it straight until somebody creates a catchy rap song about it.
Maybe one day we'll have one of these songs for every fandom and have them compiled into an album called "Fandom 101."
